“Powerful is our need to be known, really known by ourselves and others, even if only for a moment.” Dr. Carl Rogers

Whatever brings you to therapy, I appreciate that it’s sometimes not easy to pick a therapist, let alone get started with therapy itself. To share a bit about my approach and what therapy would be like: I try to find the best approach for each client - unpacking emotions with emotionally focused therapy, understanding the parts of ourselves with internal family systems therapy, regulating thoughts and behaviors with cognitive behavioral therapy, or addressing the emotions that get stuck in our body with somatic therapy; usually some combination of each.

There are also fundamentals across all effective therapies and shared in common with many cultural traditions - treating each other like people and listening well go a long way.

I work with individual adults and adolescents, families, and couples. I focus on anxiety, depression, anger, grief, trauma, and relational issues.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a soldier and then a scientist. I am also a father and a husband. I've learned a lot from these experiences, but most of all, I’ve learned the value of relationships, caring for each other, and ourselves.
